Criteria Decided for Including Athletes with Exceptional Performance at National and International Levels in Government Service Determined in the Cabinet Meeting

If necessary, additional points will be added to the criteria to ensure that no athlete is deprived of government benefits, informed Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar

Mumbai : Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar informed the Legislative Assembly that in the cabinet meeting, a decision was made to determine the criteria for providing government jobs according to the educational qualifications of athletes who have performed in national and international competitions. Pawar assured that if necessary, additional points will be added to the criteria to ensure that no athlete who has raised Maharashtra’s name at the national and international levels is deprived of the benefits of this decision.

Pawar informed about the issue raised by member Hiraman Khoskar through a point of information about giving athlete Kavita Raut a job as Deputy Collector or Deputy Superintendent of Police.

“The state government has always encouraged various sports and athletes. A decision has already been made to include athletes who have performed very well and won medals at the national and international levels, thereby enhancing the state’s reputation, in government service. The criteria for this have also been determined. The additional points will also be considered for inclusion,” Pawar stated.
