Couple arrested for kidnapping child for begging

Pune : NpNews24 – Kondhwa police station officials have arrested a couple and claimed to have rescued a three year old child whom they had kidnapped for begging purpose.

The incident had taken place on February 24 when the boy went missing from outside his house in Kondhwa.

According to police, they had checked about 110 CCTV footages to zero on the accused who were seen carrying the child. Police followed the accused persons till Saswad. Hundreds of people had gathered in Veergaon village there for pilgrimage. Police searched the area thoroughly and found the child with the couple under a tree.

The arrested accused persons have been identified as Lala Shivaji Suryavanshi (38) and Sunita Laxman Binawat (30), residents of Osmanabad district.

DCP (Zone 5) Prakash Gaikwad supervised the ivestigation team which included senior police inspector Anil Patil, Inspector (crime) Mahadev Kumbhar, and their staffs.
