Pune – 4 men sentenced 20 years imprisonment for gangrape of differently-abled girl

Pune : Npnews24 – A special court on Wednesday sentenced four men to 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment for committing gangrape on a differently-abled girl in 2014.

Special judge GP Agarwal also imposed a fine of Rs 1.1 lakhs on the convicts Vijaypal Vickysingh (22) of Khandala, Dilawar Hafiz Khan (24, resident of Walvan village, Lonavala), Yasin Shakir Khan (35, resident of Tableland, Lonavala), Satish Chitbhal alias Ramasre Gupta (33, resident of Khandala.

According to police, the incident had taken place between 30 April to May 2, 2014 in Lonavala and Khandala.

Additional public prosecutor Suresh Gawli examined eight witnesses in the case. The convicts had kidnapped her from Pune station, under pretext of marriage. She was taken to Dahivli in Maval and raped by raped Vijaypal, Dilawar and Yasin. The next day, she was taken to Khandala and there too four raped her. She was then dropped home. After coming home, she told about the incidents to her family.

Meanwhile, her family had already lodged complaint with police as she was missing for two days.

The testimony of the victim girl and the DNA report proved vital in the conviction.

Out of the total amount of penalty,Rs one lakh rupees has been given to the victim.
