Coastal Route & Milan Subway In Mumbai | Chief Minister inspects Coastal route and Milan subway during ongoing rains

Mumbai : NpNews24 Online  –  Coastal Route & Milan Subway In Mumbai | The rain water accumulates in the low- lying Santacruz and Milan sub-way area every year and creates traffic jam problems. Chief minister Mr Eknath Shinde himself inspected the system pressed into service suring the down pour that started since yesterday. He directed the Municipal Corporation administration to start operating the system for management of the accumulation of water in the low lying areas to avoid the traffic congestion. Additional Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation (Projects) P Velrasu, deputy commissioner (Infrastructural facilities) Ulhas Mahale, Chief engineer (Rainwater drain lines, sewarage) Raju Jahagirdar, deputy chief engineer Vibhas Achrekar and other responsible officers were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shinde said that due to accumulation of water in Milan Subway region in the monsoon, people have to face hard times because of congestion of traffic and said that this year water tanks with capacity of thousands of liters have been installed for pumping out the rain water. He also said that the water from the low -lying regions is pumped out and stored in the storage tanks and that is the reason why the traffic system is smoothly going on.

Shinde also directed the administration to implement such system at other places in the Mumbai city so as to keep traffic moving, smoothly.The chief minister said that War room of Mumbai municipal corporation is being continuously monitoring the rainfall situation and asked the administration to take all care that people do not have to face problems in the monsoon.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mr Eknath Shinde today morning visited the construction site of Coastal Route in Worli area of Mumbai and inspected the development. He took the update on the reasons of accumulation of water in this region and asked the administration to take care that it does not afflict the citizens of Mumbai.
