CM issued Letter of Award Pune Metro Line-3

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is implementing the Pune Metro Line- 3,  which is going from Shivajinagar to Hinjewadi.

Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority provided a project to Tata-Siemens Companies. This project is given to these companies on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. DBFOT is a project delivery method. It includes various procedures like Designing and Building the infrastructure. Then Operating this project for a specific period of time and then Transferring this project’s ownership to the government after that set downtime is over.

Metro line -3 projects is based on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. PPP is a funding model for public infrastructure projects. Model to facilitate decongestion of Pune traffic by improving connectivity within Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR). Metro line 3 will run between Shivajinagar and Hinjewadi mainly to cater the needs of Information & Technology Industry.

The Rs. 8313 crore project was given a nod from the Central Government under its new metro policy 2017. This projects tender procedure was crystal clear & transparent.

In the presence of Chief Minister of Maharashtra state Devendra Fadnavis & PMRDA president Pune work order of Pune Metro line-3 (Shivajinagar to Hinjewadi) has been issued to the eligible contractor -TATA & Siemens Companies.  at 2 pm, October 3,  at Mantralay Mumbai.

Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, Guardian Minister of Pune Girish Bapat, chief secretary D.K. Jain, Urban Development Principal Secretary Nitin Karir, Additional chief secretary, Finance U.P.S Madan, Additional chief secretary Pravin Pardeshi, PMRDA Metropolitan commissioner Kiran Gitte, TATA group of president Chandrasekharan, Siemens group of CEO Ralf hesalbechar, Siemens chief of finance Head Anthony canisiyo were present for the meeting.

Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority is the Planning and Development Authority for the Pune Metro Region with an outlook towards channelizing growth in a strategic and orderly manner.
