Pune: Baramati MP and NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule has criticized first-time MP Murlidhar Mohol, whose stars are shining bright as he has been sworn in as a minister in the Central government. The city has got a minister through the Lok Sabha after 28 years.

Sule said, “It is a good thing that Pune has got a minister. However, he should not work for the benefit of contractors but for the common people.”

She expressed the desire that the Central government would waive all types of loans of farmers in the cabinet’s first meeting. Sule visited the NCP (SP) office in the city to celebrate her party’s foundation day. She was speaking to the media on the occasion.

Sule said, “Ravindra Dhangekar worked very hard in Pune after the Lok Sabha polls. He ensured that justice was done to the family of victims in the hit-and-run case. It is really laudable. We are two MPs from the MVA. We would feel Dhangekar’s absence in Lok Sabha. Though he has been defeated with a small margin, he would bounce back. I am confident that he will be re-elected as an MLA in October.”

The Baramati MP hit out at the civic administration due to the floods after the rain on Saturday in the city. “After one wet spell, roads were flooded twice in the Sinhagad road area. The administration and the ‘Khoke Sarkar’ (state government) is responsible for that.”

Sule announced that she would survey the pathetic conditions in the city after the rains.
