Pune: PMRDA pulls down dangerous hoardings in Hinjawadi

Pune: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) continued its action against illegal hoardings in Hinjawadi on the second day on Thursday (June 20). A 60X40 ft billboard was removed on Wakad-Hinjawadi Road.

The PMRDA planned to remove two hoardings on Thursday.

On Wednesday, a 40X40 ft (1,600 sq ft) hoarding was removed at Gat No. 132/1 in Hinjawadi.

Though belated, the action was taken following the incident in Ghatkopar in Mumbai, where a huge hoarding collapsed claiming many lives and damaging vehicles and other properties.

Sachin Mhaske, Officer, Sky Sign Department, PMRDA, said, “Many hoarding owners have applied to the authority for permission. We are looking into them. However, those hoardings raised without permission, will be demolished.”
