CBSE hiked exam fees for students by 24 times

NPnews24 Online, New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has increased their fees of class 10 and 12 board examination by up to Rs 1,150, the first hike in the last five year, according to board officials.

Fees for general category students for both class 10 and 12 have doubled from Rs 750 to Rs 1,500 for five subjects. SC/ST students were paying Rs 350 earlier, will now supposed to pay Rs 1,200 for five subjects.

The board notified the changes in the fees Last week and has asked the schools, to collect amount according to new notification. As per the revised norms, General category students will have to pay Rs 300 for an additional subject, instead of 150 earlier.

Also hundred per cent visually-impaired students are exempted from paying CBSE examination fees.

This hike has brought CBSE fee at par with other central board NIOS, which charge Rs 1,800 for male candidates, Rs 1,450 for females and Rs 1,200 for SC/ST candidates, the officials added.
