NEW DELHI : NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- On the order of the Supreme Court, the CBI will now investigate the allegations of physical and sexual abuse of children living in 16 Ashram Homes (Shelter Houses) of Bihar. However, the state government had requested not to submit these cases to the Central Investigation Agency.

The bench of Justice Madan B Lokur, Justice S Abdul Nazir and Justice Deepak Gupta rejected the request of the state government. Right now Bihar Police is investigating these cases. Meanwhile, the CBI told the court that it is ready to for doing the investigation and the charge sheet might be filed till December 7.

Transfer of officers stopped:

The court also said that any officer of the Investigation Bureau, who is examining ashram houses in Bihar, should not be transferred without prior permission. Petitioner Fauzia Shakeel had claimed that the state government was adopting a soft approach in these matters. On the report of the Tata Institute, the FIR was lodged against 11 people on May 31, in the Muzaffarpur Ashram house.

Why CBI Investigation:

The court said that in the report of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, concern has been expressed on 17 ashram houses of the state. That is why CBI should investigate. One of these Muzaffarpur cases has already been investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Muzaffarpur girl’s house matter is not investigated properly, Therefore Supreme Court seemed  angry with the Bihar government and the investigation team.  If the government and the investigating agency’s methods do not change in the upcoming days , then the state government have to face the anger of the Supreme Court.
