CAREFUL! Genetic Elements of COVID-19 Found in Air Particles, is It an Alarm of Danger?

New Delhi : Since the global epidemic has spread in many countries of the world, researches is on to eliminate it. The aim of these researches is to understand COVID-19 and make its medicine. However, in a recent research, scientists have found evidence of coronavirus genetic element in the air. But it is not clear in this research whether it can cause infection or not. Researchers have assessed the environment of two hospitals and some public spaces in Wuhan, China. These are the areas where COVID-19 has the highest number of cases. Scientists have found evidence of a genetic element of the coronavirus in the air, but have also said that it is not yet clear whether these particles are infectious.

This team of researchers also includes the researchers from Wuhan University. The study, published in the journal Nature, says that whether these genetic elements are infectious or not has yet to be assessed. A total of 40 samples have been collected from 31 locations for research.

Scientists have said that the methods that have spread SARS-COV-2 RNA to humans so far include – coming in close contact with infected people, exposure to contaminated microscopic droplets exhaled when the infected person exhale or sneeze. The matter of its spread through air is not completely clear yet.

Kay Lan and his team reached these results after set up aerosol traps in the two government hospitals where COVID-19 patients were admitted in February and March 2020.
