Brother of Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja involved in a terror attack in Australia

Their top test batsman Usman Khawaja has got involved in a controversy.

Usman’s bother has been alleged in planning a terror attack. He has been arrested by the Australian police in this case. The name of Australian cricketer’s brother is Arsalan Khawaja. The 39-year-old Arsalan has been arrested from Sydney’s Paramatta.

A police source told Arsalan was arrested in suburban Sydney and is being questioned in relation to allegations he attempted to pervert justice by making a false document. “The arrest relates to documents allegedly found on University of (New South Wales) grounds in August this year containing plans to facilitate terrorist attacks,” police said in a statement.

Usman Khawaja, who is in Adelaide as part of the Australia Test team as it prepares for the opening Test of the Domain Series against India starting on Thursday, is in no way linked to the investigation and he made a brief media statement today.

“It’s a matter for the police to deal with,” he told reporters at Adelaide Oval today. Out of respect for the process, it would be inappropriate for me to make any further comments. I just ask you to please respect my privacy, and my family’s privacy during this time. Thank you.”
