BJP woman corporator in trouble after workers put birthday flexboard outside PMC building

Pune: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE –  Enthusiastic workers had put flex boards outside the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) building wishing a happy birthday to a woman corporator from the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). She will remember this birthday as the Bombay High court has ordered filling of the criminal case.

Accordingly, the Ghole Road ward office of the PMC has written to the Shivajinagar police station, Pune city police, register FIR.

Vijay DahIbhate,  head of the skysign department of the PMC, said that social activist Kaniz Sukhrani has filed a petition in the High Court against illegal flex boards. During the hearing, Sukhrani’s advocates brought the matter to court’s notice after the petition was filed in court, but there were allegations of illegal flakes being imposed by political activists in the city. The lawyer recently presented four flex board photos to the court, including two in Yerwada, one under Dhole Patil road ward office and the Patil’s flex board opposite the PMC main building. The court has ordered filling of cases against those who had put up these boards as well as those who photos are published.

According to the local ward, offices have been asked to give complaints to Yerwada, Bundgarden and Shivajinagar police stations.

While giving information about this, Vijay Dahibhate said that three days ago, during the hearing, the court ordered to file criminal cases against unauthorized flex boards, and asked to present affidavits filed by the political parties earlier.

The hearing in the matter is on Friday ie today also in the high court.

Illegal flex boards have become a menace as they deface the city and it looks ugly. There is an urgent need to take strict action against those who put up these boards.

The civic bodies should give written complaints so that the police can be pressurised to take action.
