BJP Observers held meeting in Goa after Parrikar’s admission in AIIMS

Bharatiya Janata Party’s Central Observers Sunday held a detailed meeting with the local leaders and legislators on the prevailing political situation in the State due to the absence of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Party’s National General Secretaries B L Santhosh and Ram Lal along with State in charge Vijay Puranik held meeting with the BJP leaders and legislators at a city hotel here.

Besides the party legislators, Goa unit chief Vinay Tendulkar and Member of Parliament (South) Narendra Sawaikar were also present for the meeting which discussed the political situation after Parrikar was admitted to Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Emerging from the meeting with BJP Central Observers, State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that he has given views about the current political situation to the leaders and it is now for the party to take any decision.

Rane refused to divulge the details of the discussion with the leaders but said that they were briefed about the current political situation in Goa.

“We have briefed them about the facts. Each one of us has our own view and we briefed them about it. It is not right to come out in public what we discussed,” he said.

Deputy Speaker of Legislative Assembly Michael Lobo after meeting the BJP emissaries has said that there is no problem in the party but Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is not well is a problem.

Lobo told reporters that the discussions with the BJP Observers was around functioning of the government, Chief Minister’s sickness and all related things.

“The Observers are sent by party high command and they are monitoring the situation. Let them report to the High Command come back to us with the solution for the problem,” he said.

On asked about the problem, Lobo said “there is no problem in the party. Right now, CM is not well, that is the problem.”

The alliance partners – Goa Forward Party and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak party – would be meeting the Central leaders later in the evening.
