Bihar : Woman kills mother-in-law then sets herself on fire in Patna

Bihar: In a shocking incident, a woman set herself on fire after killing her mother-in-law in Bihar’s Patna. Neighbors rushed to the woman’s rescue and threw a cloth at her to extinguish the fire. The incident took place at Sakraicha in Parsa Bazaar Police area.

The woman, Lalita Devi killed her mother-in-law Dharmashila Devi before setting herself on fire. She brutally mutilated her mother-in-law’s body. Reportedly, the woman gouged out her mother-in-law’s eyes and cut off her fingers.

The police upon receiving information rushed to the spot and sent Dhamashila Devi’s body for autopsy. Lalita Devi has also been admitted to PMCH Hospital. The police recovered a knife, allegedly used to kill the mother-in-law from the crime spot.

According to Dainik Jagran, the woman and Dharmashila Devi were constantly fighting over small and big issues. The mother-in-law usually taunted the woman for being barren and not having children. After one such argument on Tuesday, Lalita Devi attacked her mother-in-law, later setting herself on fire. Police are further investigating the case.
