BIG NEWS : Indian Army May Choose Indigenous Armoured Protection Vehicle For Eastern Ladakh, Given Three Options To Choose Vehicles

New Delhi: Looking to acquire highly mobile armoured protection vehicles in its ambit to its soldiers in high altitude terrains like in Eastern Ladakh, the Indian Army have three different options to choose vehicles one of them is Tata Wheeled Armoured Protection along with American Stryker Infantry Combat Vehicle and Humvee.

Chinese army had already deployed their armoured personnel carriers in large numbers at Easter Ladakh, Therefore, the Indian army also looking for infantry combat vehicles for the quick movement of troops on the location.

Army is in the process of evaluation and decision will be taken accordingly but as per the sources, the indigenous platform would certainly be given preference over the foreign products in meeting the requirement of the army. Both, Stryker and Humvee has already been part of the forces it was into an American defence force since a long time while Tata vehicle is yet to enter into the service.

It has been developed with a DRDO laboratory, has undergone several trails in recent times including high altitude tests.

Strykers and Humvee

Both are reportedly capable of being dropped from the transport aircraft including the C-130J and C-17s which are also operated by the Indian Air Force.
