Bhosari police recovers 20 stolen bikes

Officials from Bhosari police station under Pimpri-Chinchwad police commissionerate have busted a gang of thieves and have recovered 20 stolen bikes from their possession.

The seized bikes are worth Rs 8.55 lakhs. Police said that the thieves used to sell the stolen bikes at low rates.

The gang members have been identified as Rameshwar Khandare (25), a resident of Bhosari, Anil Kale (21), Avinash Madhe (19), both residents of Ahmenagar, Rameshwar Bhise (21) and Omkar Chavan (19), both residents of Alandi.

According to police, the bikes were stolen from Vishrantwadi, Bhosari, Aale Phata, Dighi, Junnar and Pimpri-Chinchwad. They used to break handle lock and steal the bikes. Some bikes were sold at cheaper rates, while some accused used to abandon the bikes after use. Police nabbed Khandare first in Beed. During interrogation he told details of his accomplices who were arrested later on.

With their arrest, police claimed to have solved 11 cases of theft registered with seven police stations. In total police has recovered 20 two wheelers from the five thieves.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartna Patil and Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Patil supervised the investigation team which included Senior police inspector Narendra Jadhav, Crime Inspector Ajay Bhosale and Police Sub Inspector Pramod Kathore.
