Angry over cycle theft, minor boy sets on fire 5 bikes

A minor boy has been detained by Pimpri police station for allegedly setting five bikes on fire in Patrashed, Bhatanagar, in the wee hours of Tuesday. Police said that the juvenile was angry after his cycle was stolen by someone.

The incident took place around 3.30 am. The boy had sprinkled petrol on the bikes and then set them on fire. After being informed by the local residents, a team from Sant Tukaram Nagar Fire Service Headquarters rushed to the spot and doused the fire. However, the bikes had been extensively damaged by then. The burnt bikes belonged to Tanaji Pawar, Madhukar Tarukmare, Rahul Tambe and Baba Shaikh.

The fire brigade team included Ashok Kanade, Shankar Patil, Bhushan Yewale and Mayur Kumbhar.
