Amid coronavirus, sex workers in Germany demand right to work

Hamburg: Sex workers in Germany are demanding the right to get back to work as the country’s brothel remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Around 400 prostitutes and brothel operators across the Germany protested in the red light area of Hamburg on Saturday.

Though, prostitution is legal in Germany but the brothels have closed for almost four months due to the outbreak.

They have been demanding the right to return to work, especially when close contact in other business is allowed.

The protest organized by the Association of Sex Workers in the protest argues that prostitution does not pose a higher risk of infection than other services such as massages, cosmetic, dancing. They also said the workers are prepared to implement more protective measures.
