Accused in Money-Duping Case Apprehended by Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch After Three years

Pimpri Chinchwad: The team of Unit One of the Crime Branch of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police has successfully apprehended the accused, who absconded by taking money from the customers where he was working, duping his owner of a significant sum. Against him, multiple cases of crimes were registered at various police stations in the city. Finally, the team of Crime Branch One detained him in the Katraj area.

The accused has been identified as Simon Ronnie Peter. Peter, a 40-year-old, is a resident of Katraj Bypass, Pune, and has a case under IPC 408 registered against him at Chikhali police station. For the past three years, the accused has been evading police arrest by deceiving law enforcement officers. Finally, the effort of law officials bore fruit, as he was taken into custody from the Katraj area.

Accused Simon Peter was working as a sales manager with a building constructor. He was booked for absconding with a significant sum by taking money from customers without giving it to the owner. The accused has defrauded builders in Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune city areas of lakhs of rupees in the last three years. Police could not find the accused as he was constantly changing his residence.

Police Inspector Somnath Borhade, Mahadev Javale, and Ajit Rupanwar, under the guidance of Police Inspector Gorakh Kumbhar, searched the accused, Simon Peter, in the Katraj Bypass area. With the help of a technical investigation and tracing the whereabouts of Peter, police apprehended the accused.

Notably, in the year 2022, a similar case has also been registered against the accused Simon in the Talegaon MIDC Police Station. It has come to light that he committed such crimes in the areas of Hinjewadi, Hadapsar, and Piranghut.

This operation was conducted by the Crime Branch police team of Pimpri-Chinchwad, comprising Senior Police Inspector Gorakh Kumhar, Range Sub-Inspector Shivaji Kande, Police Commissioner Somnath Borhade, Mahadev Javale, Balu Kokate, Amit Khanwilkar, Ganesh Mahadik, Manoj Kumar Kamble, Farooq Mulla, Sachin More, Pramod Hiralkar, Umakant Sarvade, Ajit Rupanwar, Maroti Jaybhaye, Swapneel Mahale, Vishal Bhoir, Tanaji Pansare, Technical Analyst Police Commissioner Nagesh Mali, and Popat Hulge under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doifode, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vishal Hire, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Balasaheb Kopnar.
