9 booked in Wanwadi for beating up man

Pune: Police booked nine persons for allegedly beating up a person in Wanwadi while playing cricket, the police said. The injured has been identified as Deepak Thakur (45). Pushpa Thakur (40) has lodged a complaint at the Wanwadi Police Station. A case has been registered against 9 persons.

According to the police, the plaintiff lives in Ramtekdi area. Meanwhile, some children were playing cricket in the open space in the area. Deepak objected them from playing cricket there and also complaint about the same at few kid’s houses. Angered by this, the children shouted and beat the plaintiff’s husband with stones and wooden sticks, leaving him seriously injured. He is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Wanwadi police are conducting further investigations.
