8 September deadline for Dhangar Reservation : Dhangar Community

Maharashtra State Dhangar (ST) Reservation Action Committee on Friday said that , the state government should include Dhangar Samaj in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category till September 8 and the decision should be taken immediately, otherwise the movement will be carried out on the road across the state.

Maharashtra State Dhangar Reservation Action Committee did a day-long “Lakshanik Uposhan” in front of Pune’s Legislative Assembly. At that time, the departmental commissioner was given the letter of demands.

MLA Ramdas Vdkute, Pune Zilla Parishad’s chairman Vishwas Devkate, Ramesh Shendge, Madan Devkate, Parmeshwar Kolekar, Balasaheb Kargal, Dadabhau Kale, Shashikant Tarange, Vilas Waghmode, Bhimdev Burungale, Shivajirao Ijgude, Ganpatrao Devkate were present on the occasion.

If Dhangar community is not included in the Scheduled Tribes before August 24 then, there will be protest in front of every district collector’s office, said the community representative.

Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar’s death anniversary in on September 8, From this day onwards, there will be a state-wide agitation. The action committee also warned that the state government will be responsible if the question of law and order occurred.
MLA Vdakute said, “The state government had promised to give reservation to Dhangar community. However, they have not yet implemented it. If the decision is not taken Until September8, then there will be  state-wide agitation.”

Prakash Shendge said, “Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has deceived the Dhangar community. So, the fight against this government has started. Today, there is “Lakshanik Uposhan”, after that, marches will be held on August 13 and 14 in every Tehsildar office of the state.”

Take back the cases filed against the protesters of Dhangar Community.

Dhangar community has been agitating for the demand of reservation since 2009. However, false cases have been registered against the protesters. Zilla Parishad Chairman, Vishwasrao Devkate, demanded that thses cases should be withdrawn immediately. He has also give a letter of request for the same Home Minister Ram Shinde.

Demands of Dhangar Community

• The name of Puneyalok Ahilyadevi Holkar should be given to Solapur University.
• Grant funds of Rs one thousand crore to Goat-Sheep Financial Development Corporation
• Graduate unemployed of the community should be given 25 lakh rupees grant for business.
• In each taluka, build a separate hostel for the boys and girls of Dhangar Community.
