72nd Independence Day celebration at national war memorial, Southern Command

The 72nd Independence Day is celebrated all over the Nation today. To make the celebrations even more prominent there are commemorative events conducted at various location parts of the country.

The main event is held at National War Memorial, Southern Command located at Ghorpadi, Pune Camp.

A commemorative wreath was laid by Major General Prithi Singh, General Officer Commanding, Southeren Maharashtra Sub Area. He commenced this responsibility on behalf of all ranks of Pune Military Station. The event at National War Memorial started on 9 AM in the morning. In the presence of a ceremonial guard accompanied by a military brass band.

There was a guard of honour, a group of soldiers ready for the ceremonial welcome. All the dignitaries are welcomed in the similar manner. As the decorum and reputation of the army there is march conducted by the the army men. The flag is then hoisted and everyone salutes the tricolor with extreme pride in their eyes.

The event also included a performance by the the army band, they honored the country by playing the famous patriotic songs. The performance created an essense of country love in the atmosphere.

Many of the people who went to attend the event took their bikes, as they had organised a bike rally following the event. Many of the city”s commoners. With them, the members of the organization, Nation First members also participated in the bike rally. The rally was conducted following the event. More than 200 bikers joined the rally, who will be going around the city.

For the security purposes there were soldiers deployed on every square in and around the area. The sitting arrangement is done according to the posts, There were different sections made for commoners and for Army Officers according to their rankings.

Punekars in huge numbers were present at the event. More than 500 people were there to salute the tricolor and listen to the melodious military brass band.
