72 percent of the RTE’s admission in the district completed

The School has started one and a half month back but the admission under Right to Education Act (RTE) is still in process. The entry of 72 percent seats in Pune District has been completed. Meanwhile, the third round’s entry is still open and the fourth round will be started soon. While in State, 57 percent of admission is complete which is relatively low.

School in the state have started from June 15, while many CBSE and other board schools have already started. Every year assurance is given by Education Department that the admission process will start on time but however it gets delays every year. Due to which the month of September and October is set to complete the entire process of admission. Although, the scenario is still retained and the admission statistics are more optimistic than the past few years.

There are 930 schools for RTE admission in the district under which 16,306 seats are available for RTE admission. 43,568 applications have been received for these seats, out of which 17,874 students have enrolled for the admission under RTE, however out of which 11,726 of them have so far got admission. The entrance process is still going on. The third-round entry will be completed within a few days and the fourth lottery will be announced soon.

Meanwhile, according to information provided by officials in Pune division, there were about 4,500 seats available in Pune city, out of which 90 percent of the admission under RTE Act has been completed.

In some places of rural areas, there is a lesser response than the city. Education Department officials said that the fourth round will reach up to 75 percent in district.
