7 Active Chinese Military Airbases On Radar of Indian Agencies

New Delhi : In the midst of a dispute with China, India is keeping a close watch on every activity across the LAC. Not only in eastern Ladakh, Indian agencies are now eyeing every movement of the People’s Liberation Army’s Air Force (PLAAF) across the Line of Actual Control from Ladakh to Arunachal in the Northeast. According to sources, at least 7 airbases of China are on the radar of Indian agencies.

According to the ANI, we are keeping a close watch on Hotan, Gar Gunsa, Kashgar, Hopping, Dkonka Dzong, Linzhi and Pangat airbases of PLAAF air bases of the PLAAF in the Xinjiang and Tibet region and all of them have been highly active in the recent times. Security agencies have received information that China’s Air Force has recently upgraded some of these air bases. At some airbases, the length of the runway has been increased, while at some places additional personnel have been deployed.

According to the information, the Linzhi air base is close to the northeastern states of India and is primarily a helicopter base. China has also created a network of helipads near the airbase. Its purpose is to increase its surveillance activities and capabilities. At the same time, sources say that China has deployed fighter jets in Ladakh as well as other areas. These include the Chinese version of Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft as well as its indigenous J-series fighter aircraft. However, in the Ladakh region, the Indian Air Force has a clear edge over China. The reason for this is that Chinese fighter jets have to fly from very high altitude air bases while a fleet of Indian aircraft can reach the mountainous area immediately after flying from the plains.
