5-year-old violated in Viman Nagar, accused arrested

Pune: A five-year-old girl was allegedly violated by a man in Pune’s Viman Nagar area, the police said on Monday.

The arrested accused has been identified as Dilip Kumar Goswami, the police said. The 20-year-old accused worked as a security guard at a hotel.

According to police, the victim girl and her parents live in a labour camp. After the girl’s parents went for work, the accused called her out of the house. The accused then took her to a parking space next to the hotel and raped her.

Later, when the mother came back from work and saw the girl scared, she questioned her. The horrified girl narrated the ordeal to her mother. The mother then lodged a complaint at the police station. Based on the complaint, the police have arrested the accused and are further investigating the case while the minor girl is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
