16th Maharashtra Police Duty Meet begins in Pune

Pune: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – The 16th Maharashtra State Police Duty Meet (MSPDM) was inaugurated by Pune police commissioner Dr K Venkatesham at the SRPF group 2 parade ground in Wanowrie on Wednesday. The event is being held from October 29 to November 3.

CID chief Add DGP Sanjiv Kumar Singhal welcomed the Pune police commissioner Venkatesham. A total of 22 teams demonstrated their parade skills.

Singhal felicitated the officers and police personnel who had got awards during the 61st All India Police Duty Meet.

CID police inspector Girisha Nimbalkar who had performed well during the 61st All India Police Duty Meet, ran around the ground with the flame.

Also present on the occasion were CID IGP Sunil Ramanand, Maharashtra Intelligence Academy (MIA) director RD Shinde, CID DIGP Dattatray Mandlik, Dr Jay Jadhav, SRPF group 2 commandant M Ramkumar, and SRPF group 1 commandant Arvind Chavariya. CID SP Kalpana Baravkar, Add SP Sunita Kalbande, retd ASI Sitaram Narke compered the event.

The MSPDM is an annual professional contest conducted by the Maharashtra Police with an objective of assessing the professional competence in various aspects of policing. The premier investigating agency of the State Government, the CID has been organizing this annual event every year. Competitions under six broad heads, viz., Scientific Aids to Investigation, Professional Photography, Computer Awareness, Videography, Anti-Sabotage Check and Dog Squad skill. The State Police Duty Meet comprises of a written test on “Crime Investigation, Criminal Laws, Rules, Procedures and Court Judgments”.

It coves almost all aspects of investigation of the time especially those related with scientific and technical aid to investigation this also provides opportunity to police forces coming from all over State to exchange their ideas, Problems, views and best practices adopted by them for investigation.
