14-year-old Haidar murdered over carrom in Bengal

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- In a bizarre incident, a 14-year-old teenage boy was murdered after a dispute among the group of friends over a game of carrom.

The incident took place in Bankura district of Bengal on Monday  night. It took place in the outskirts of Bankura town, about 197 km to the west of Kolkata. Bankura, is one of the not-so-posh towns of West Bengal but the incidents of crime taking place there are not less in number.

On Monday, the night which started peaceful became dreadful gradually when a group of friends who took part in game of carrom ended up fighting among themselves in which a 14-year old teenager named Haidar Ali Khan lost his life. Also, another teenager named Rasul, allegedly smashed his head with a stone during the fight.

The group used to play carrom in their gambling den which was a shop on the roadside and that night reportedly placed bets on the game and the two, the deceased, Haidar and Rasul were both regulars in the game.

Some people immediately after which took Haidar to Bankura Medical College and Hospital but was too late and he died. That was not it, as the localities of the area later looted their den which was a roadside shop were they used to play carrom every often.

According to police, Gul Mohammad has been arrested on Tuesday who owned the place and that bets were placed and Haidar and Rasul were regulars but we are still in search of Rasul who is absconding.

The police informed that, Haidar and Rasul  had a fight after they started playing the game and later Rasul allegedly attacked Haidar with a stone at the back of his head. And people, present there immediately took him to hospital.

While Bankura police is probing into the case further and has been trying to trace Rasul.
