“Women don’t need to have career apprehensions with regard to starting a family,” Says Lisa Haydon

Mumbai: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – Supermodel turned actress also a mother, Lisa Haydon has always been in news for her bold moves, was seen getting candid in a recent interview.

Lisa, who has featured in films like Aisha, Queen and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, wonders what the typical Bollywood heroine is as the world of Hindi films has opened up to a whole variety of narratives and portrayals.

Lisa said, “I am not sure what the quintessential Bollywood heroine is because there are such varied films and roles that are coming out these days.” Lisa is very happy with whatever roles she has done and hopes to get more in future.

Lisa made her acting debut with a supporting role in the 2010 film Aisha, and has also featured in Housefull 3.

On personal front, Lisa welcomed her first child in 2017 a son named Zack, with husband Dino Lalvani. They had got married in 2016.

“I knew I wasn’t going to have to choose one or the other. Sure, having a kid opened my eyes to a whole new world and way of living and one’s priorities may change. But it’s up to each individual and what they want to make of it.”

“I was filming a web series till I was five months pregnant. I did the cover of Vogue India with Hrithik (Roshan) when I was four months pregnant… I believe that we are finally arriving at a place where women don’t need to have career apprehensions towards starting a family. You can have it all. You might have to run a tight ship and have the occasional meltdown but it’s all good,” Lisa said.

On how motherhood has evolved her, Lisa said, “I don’t think you can escape evolution. When you become a mother, so many things change. For one, your priorities change in a major way, and then you have to learn how to juggle things a lot better while still being true to yourself and being the best parent you possibly.”

Lisa and her son recently became the muse for photographer Rohan Shrestha for India Today.
