Woman delivered a boy in the worst storm

Npnews24 online: In a cyclonic storm ‘Vayu’ hitted on Gujarat coast affecting several livelihood, but on other side NDRF rescued a pregnant woman expecting a pre-term delivery, she hail from Shiyalbet village, where boats are the only mode of transportation and brought her to a hospital in Jafarabad.

The woman successfully delivered a baby boy condition of both the child and mother is stable.

Vayu is the deadliest storm and hit the state since 1998, when a cyclone had ravaged the port town of Kandla, killing 1,241 people.

The cyclone gusting upto 180 kmph, and is moving at a speed of 16 kmph.It is projected to hit the coast between Dwarka and Porbandar, west of Veraval, by 3pm.

As many as people from the coastal area evacuated and efforts taken to minimize the damage to life and property.
