Woman catches collar of DB PSI,  beat constables at Hadapsar police station

Pune: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – A 29-year-old woman has been arrested by Pune city police for allegedly assaulting a Police sub-inspector and constables inside the Hadapsar police station. The incident took place around Sunday midnight.

Police constable Rupali Tengale has lodged an FIR against Geeta Nagesh Pardeshi (29) of Wanowrie.

According to the FIR, the complainant was working in the CCTNS room when she heard loud noise outside the police station. When she went out she saw the accused woman was arguing with Police sub inspector Bhange of the detection branch (DB) and making loud noises. When I asked her to tell me what has happened, she told me to stay away from their matter. The woman is said to be acquaintance of the police officer.  She held collar of PSI Bhange saying she will not teach him a lesson and get him suspended in any false case as she has done with many officers in the past.

When complainant intervened, the accused held her collar and gave a tight slap. After that other police personnel on night duty including Dhaygude, Shinde, Munde, Shaikh and Tamhane, overpowered the woman and took her in custody.

Police have charged for offences under sections 504 (inetnional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation), 332 (V oluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) , 352 (P nishment for assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation) and 353 (obstructing public servant from discharging official duty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
