Warje-Malwadi police recovers stolen ornaments, phones worth Rs 2.65 lakhs

A notorious thief has been arrested by Warje Malwadi police station of Pune city police and stolen ornaments, phones worth Rs 2.65 lakhs have been seized from his possession.

The arrested accused has been identified as Gaurav Suresh Birungikar, a resident of Ramnagar, Warje. Acting on a tip-off received by policeman Maggi Jadhav, he was nabbed and the recovery was made.

Police have recovered 55.3 gram gold ornaments stolen in six cases and eight mobile phones, totally worth Rs 2.65 lakhs.

The investigation team included senior police inspector Rekha Salunke, PI (crime) Prakash Khandekar, PSI Sitaram Dhawde, ASI Jaganath Gore, and policemen Amol Katkar, Vijay Kamble, Nitin Jagdale, Tejas Pawar, Sandip Shelke, and Sachin Dhotre.
