Wardha: Burglars strike at Hinganghat house, decamp with booty worth Rs 8 lakh

Hinganghat: Burglars broke into a house in Sant Chokhoba ward in Hinganghat city of Wardha district and looted items worth Rs 8 lakhs, the police said on Tuesday.

Jitendra Amarnath Raut, 37, resident of Sant Chokhoba has lodged a complaint with Hinganghat police station in this regard. Jitendra Raut had gone with his wife on Saturday, March 13 to meet the two children who live with their uncle in Mothi Wani. When he returned on Monday, he found his door open and realized his house was burgled. The suspects stole cash and jewellery worth Rs 8 lakh from his bedroom’s cupboard. Hinganghat police station police inspector Sampat Chavan is investigating the case.

Jitendra Raut’s father lives downstairs in their house. According to him, he did not see anyone entering the second floor of their house in the last two days.
