Veteran Actor Rajiv Kapoor passes away in Mumbai

Actor Rajiv Kapoor has passed away following a heart attack at the age of 58 in Mumbai. Randhir Kapoor that he rushed his brother to Chembur’s Inlaks Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Rajiv’s sister-in-law, Neetu Kapoor expressed her grief on his passing in an Instagram post. Sharing a picture of the late actor, she wrote “RIP”.

Rajiv Kapoor was the brother of late Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor. He starred in movies like Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Mera Saathi and Hum To Chale Pardes among others. The actor turned a film producer with 1991 film Henna. Rajiv also bankrolled his only directorial Prem Granth and Aa Ab Laut Chalen. After making his Bollywood debut with the 1983 movie Ek Jaan Hain Hum, Rajiv worked in his father Raj Kapoor’s last directorial venture Ram Teri Ganga Maili, that released in 1985.

The movie, which also featured Mandakini, remains Rajiv’s most notable work.
