Vaccination drive begins in Thane; 69 health workers and 99 cops along with Police Commissioner vaccinated

Thane: Vaccination drive was inaugurated and rolled out in Thane by Thane Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar. The vaccine was administered to 69 health workers and 99 frontline police personnel on Wednesday (February 3) in the city.

The first vaccine was administered to Police Commissioner Phansalkar at Thane Municipal Corporation’s Kalwa Health Center. He appealed, “Get vaccinated against Covid-19 without any fear and don’t fall prey to any rumours”.

Police Commissioner Suresh Mekla, Additional Commissioner Pravin Pawar, Sanjay Yenpure, Circle One Thane Deputy Commissioner of Police Avinash Ambure, Headquarters Deputy Commissioner Ganesh Gawde, Datta Kamble, Special Branch Deputy Commissioner Shrikrishna Kokate, Headquarters Assistant Commissioner Mandar Dharmadhikari and Kalwa Police Station Senior Police Inspector- Vijay Darekar and 30 other officers also took the vaccine shot.

On this occasion, Phansalkar further said, “as the Chief of Thane Police Force, I have taken this vaccine. The corona vaccine has no adverse health effects”. He appealed to the people to take advantage of this vaccine and live a healthy life without believing the rumors. He also appreciated the work of the health workers.

11 Covid Vaccination Centers have been set up in Thane Municipal Corporation area. Emergency service workers are being vaccinated at various centers.

“The vaccine rarely causes a slight weakness. Therefore, do not panic and go to your given center to get vaccinated”, appealed the Medical Vaccine Center Officer of Thane, Dr. Khushboo Tavari. At this time, Dr. Shweta Bhaigude and Dr. Hala Patil and other health workers were present.
