Trees for “Language Park” planted in Savitribai Phule Pune University

The 84^th PEN International Congress is taking place in Pune’s Savitribai Phule Pune University. Today an initiative was taken by the PEN congress president Dr Ganesh Devi and Savitribai Phule Pune University’s Chancellor Prof. Nitin Karmalkar with all the students of international cell to plant trees for the much talked language park.

A small event was carried out in the campus of international cell in which Savitribai Phule Pune University’s Chancellor Prof. Nitin Karmalkar talked about the great history of university. He also expressed that PEN International Congress is happening for the first time in India and he is happy that they have chosen Pune to be the host.

It was idea of  Language expert of international standard and head of this conference Dr Ganesh Devi to make language park of more than 180 trees, which will be speaking more than 6,000 languages. A specially made device by Mr. Devi will be placed on these trees. The Savitribai Phule Pune University is the intellectual partner for the  PEN International Congress.

The construction of language park will complete in 2019.

PEN was established on 1921 in London. This organization mainly works for Freedom of Speech, Peace and friendliness among the members. There are more than 120 country members in this organisation and there are 160 centre all over the world.

On the occasion of India’s freedom fighter and nations father Mahatma Gandhi’s 150^th birth anniversary in year 2019, this conference is organised in India. With Savitribai Phule Pune University, many educational institute are also going to participate in this conference.

Other than the language park initiative, many new things are going to happen in the university Camps. More than 25 international and Indian universities are coming in campus for chat sessions. In this exchange of Literature in different language will take place. Dindi of many languages from around the world will be carried out. To manage these events a different committee is formed by university.
