Total Number of Patients Reached 17974 with 1216 New Cases of Coronavirus in Maharashtra

Mumbai : 1216 new cases of corona infection in Maharashtra were reported on Thursday and 43 corona patients have died due to this. Now the total corona infected patients in Maharashtra has reached 17974 till Friday morning. 3301 people have been cured after treatment with this virus. Apart from this, a video of Sion Hospital operated by BMC, a local body of Mumbai, has gone viral on Thursday in which dead-bodies of people who died due to Coronavirus infection are seen with COVID-19 patients.

Announcing the investigation after the video went viral, Dr Pramod Ingale, dean of Lokmanya Tilak Mahapalika Sarvadasan Hospital located in Sion area, said that the family is reluctant to take the body, so this situation has arisen. In a statement issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Dr. Ingale has said that how true the video is will be investigated. Earlier, Dean had said that the families of those who died of the coronavirus are often feared to take the body and “that’s why the bodies are there.”

He said, “We have now removed the bodies from there and are investigating the matter.” On asking why the bodies have not been sent to the morgue, Dr. Ingale said, “The hospital morgue has the facility of keeping 15 dead bodies, 11 of which are filled.” He said that if all the bodies are sent to the morgue then there will be no place to keep the bodies of those who died due to other reasons than coronavirus infection. Till Friday morning, 436 people have died due to Coronavirus infection in Mumbai while 11394 people have confirmed the infection.
