Third failed kidnapping helps Pune police arrest accused

NPnews24 Online: Pune – The officials from Pune city police Crime Branch unit 3 have arrested a 20-year-old labourer from Uttar Pradesh, who attempted three kidnappings but failed always.

The accused Vikas Rambhavan Chavan worked as centring worker. He was arrested in Manjri on Wednesday in connection with kidnapping of Pushkraj Sachin Dhanwade (2), who was taken away from outside his home in Wadachiwadi on Saturday around 8.30 pm. Chavan had left behind the child and fled from Undri area on Sunday morning as local residents and police had intensified search for him.

Police officials said that the accused had earlier also tried to kidnap a six year old boy in Wadki and another child. The cops said that there are some cases registered against him in UP also.

Investigation was supervised by Additional Commissioner of Police (crime) Pradip Deshpande, DCP (crime) Shirish Sardeshpande, ACP Sameer Shaikh and Police Inspector Deepak Nikam. The team included API Sandip Deshmane, PSI Ajay Mhatre, PSI Sanjay Gaikwad, Kiran Adagale, ASI Dattatreya Garud, and policemen Anil Shinde, Kishore Shinde, Deepak Mate, Pravin Tapkir, Mehboob Mokashi, Ramdas Gonte, Santosh Kshirsagar, Shakil Shaikh, Macchindra Walke, Gajanan Ekbote, Wilson Dsouza, Sandip Rathod, Atul Sathe, Sandip Talekar, Sachin Gaikwad, Kailash Salunke, Kalpesh Bansode and Sagar Toradmal.
