Thane: Municipal Corporation seals five bars for violating COVID-19 protocols

Thane : Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) on Monday night sealed five restaurant bars for violating COVID-19 rules amid concerns over the rising number of COVID-19 cases. According to the TMC, the five bars violated COVID related protocols of social distancing, wearing masks, and using sanitizers.

Shilpa Orchestra Bar on LBS Road in Naupada ward, Sun City Orchestra Bar at Kapurbawdu in Majiwada-Manpada ward, TRP Lounge in Hiranandani Estate, Pop Tates, and Maezo are the five restaurant bars against which action was taken. The TMC commissioner has warned of strict action against establishments violating rules.

Last week, Thane city had seen a spike in new COVID-19 cases with 201 people testing positive for the virus on February 18. However, on Monday, the numbers were below 150. The active cases in the city stand at 1,268.
