Ten instance in India when Train became death

NEW DELHI: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE –  The big country like India has a strong network of railway and which is being used widely for by passengers as well as transportation purpose.  But along with this Railway accidents is not a new thing in India.

The recent rail accident at Amritsar took many lives and also brings the issue of railway accidents into the light again. 65 people killed in this accident, who were gathered to see the Ravan Dahan.

Ten major accidents in India:

–        In 1981 June 6, the train was going on from Manasi Junction to Saharasa Junction in Bihar. But this train fell down while passing through the Bagmati river’s bridge.  According to the figure given by the government, it took the lives of 600 people. Only 250 dead bodies were withdrawn out of the water and more than 300 dead bodies not found till yet. This is the biggest accident in India and world’s second major one.

–        On August 20 of 1995, Bhuvneshwar- Delhi Purushottam Express had dashed on Kalindi Express in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. 358 people have died in this accident and many were seriously injured.

–         On 2nd August of 1999, the railway accident at Assam took 290 lives. Assam Express and Brahmaputra Mail were dashed to each other at Gausal Station. Some soldiers also died in this incident.

–        On 26 November 1998,  in the accident of Jammu Tavi Express and Golden Temple Mail 212 people lost their lives in Punjab.

–        On 28 May of 2010, in the accident of Howrah Kurla Lokmanya Tilak Express at West Bengal cause to death for 170 people lives.

–         On December 23, 1964-  Dhnaushyakodi passenger was stuck into silicon storm, which also causes to death for 150 passengers.

–        On September 9, 2002 – this accident happened to  Howrah –  New Delhi Rajdhani Express at near Rafi Ganj station. There are total 140 passengers were died in this accident.

–        139 people died in the railway accident at Hyderabad on September 27, 1954. This accident was also happened because of falling down of train into the river.

–        On September 2, 1956- 125 people had lost their lives at Mahbubnagar bridge which is 100 km away from Hyderabad.

–        On 17 July of 1937, 119 people died in Kolkata railway accident. This was the biggest railway accident before independence.
