Tamil Nadu: Muslim Businessman donates Rs 1 lakh for construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

A Muslim businessman from Tamil Nadu has donated Rs 1 lakh for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. Donors who helped build the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh includes small merchants, daily wage earners and everyday traders.

With the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra (SRJTK), set up by the Centre to construct the temple, coming out with donation coupons of ₹10, 100 and 1,000, a large number of people came forward to donate, said S V Srinivasan, VHP state organizing secretary who is involved in raising funds for the temple.

“I want to foster communal amity between Muslims and Hindus. We are all children of god. I donated the sum with this belief,” Habib, a property developer said.

“I wouldn’t have donated to any other temple but the Ram temple is different as decades-old Ayodhya dispute came to an end.”, he added

Habib said there was nothing wrong in donating for a good cause and that he was hurt to see Muslims being tagged as anti-nationals or anti-Hindu.

Champat Rai, the Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, had confirmed that over Rs 1,000 crore had been collected under the massive campaign launched to collect funds for Ram Mandir.

Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust is conducting a mass contact and contribution campaign for the construction of the grand temple in Ayodhya, which began on January 15 and will go on till February 27.
