Swachh Survekshan 2020 : Indore’s Fourth Consecutive Win, Surat On Number Two

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced the results of the fifth edition of the Cleanliness Survey ‘Swachh Survekshan – 2020’ through video conferencing. During this, cities which performed better on cleanliness were also rewarded. At the same time, PM Modi also interacted with some ‘Swachhagrahis’ and house keeping staff.

For the fourth consecutive time, Indore got the title of the cleanest city in the country. Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that Indore is the cleanest city in India for the fourth consecutive year. Indore and its people have shown exemplary dedication towards cleanliness. Congratulations to CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the people of the city, political leadership and the Municipal Corporation for this spectacular performance.

At the same time, Union Minister Hardeep Puri said that Surat, the industrial city of Gujarat, is the second cleanest city in India and Navi Mumbai is the third cleanest city in India. Hardeep Puri praised CM Vijay Rupani for Surat, but did not even mention CM Uddhav Thackeray for Navi Mumbai.

According to the Urban Development Ministry, the ancient holy city of Varanasi is the cleanest city on the banks of the Ganges River. According to the report of the Ministry of Urban Development, Jalandhar Cantt is the cleanest cant area in the country. For this, Union Minister Hardeep Puri congratulated the Indian Army.
