Sushant Singh Death Case : More Than 80 Thousand Fake Accounts Created To Defame Mumbai Police

Mumbai : After the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14, more than 80,000 fake social media accounts were created on different forums to defame the ongoing Mumbai Police investigation and the Maharashtra government. The Mumbai Police Commissioner has asked the cyber cell to register such cases under the IT Act and investigate it.

The Cyber Cell Unit of Mumbai Police has made a report, in which it found that the posts were posted on social media forums from different countries of the world like Italy, Japan, Poland, Slovenia, Indonesia, Turkey, Thailand, Romania and France.

The senior IPS officer said- “We have identified posts in foreign language as it hashtags – #justiceforsushant #sushantsinghrajput and #SSR have been used. We are in the process of validating more accounts.”

Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh said, “This campaign was run to lower our morale at a time when 84 policemen were killed due to coronavirus and more than 6 thousand corona were infected. Campaign was deliberately run to spoil both the image and investigation of the Mumbai Police. Our cyber cells are conducting a detailed investigation into the matter and who are found guilty of violation of law, we will take strict action under the necessary sections of the Information Technology Act.”

On the report issued by AIIMS dismissing the possibility of murder, the Mumbai Police Commissioner said, “We had investigated the case professionally.” The CBI constituted the panel of AIIMS, which has justified our investigation and the facts and forensic laboratory found at Cooper Hospital. Except for a few people, nobody was aware of our investigation, but many are still criticizing our investigation.
