Survey for Delhi-Varanasi bullet train starts, Will also connect Ayodhya

New Delhi : Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) survey work for Delhi-Varanasi bullet train project has been started from Greater Noida. A helicopter equipped with state-of-the-art aerial LIDAR and imagery sensors took the first flight and captured data pertaining to ground survey on camera.

In the next three-four months, the alignment of the track of this project will be decided by collecting data on the ground. 60 megapixel cameras are being used in this work. The main corridor of about 800 km from Delhi to Varanasi will also be connected with Ayodhya.

Aerial survey of the 300 meters area around the proposed plan is being conducted. Through this, data will be collected to identify structures, stations, location of depots, land requirement for corridors, planning affected plots. It has been asked to prepare a detailed plan report of the High Speed Rail Corridor.

According to officials, the detailed planning report for the Delhi Varanasi High Speed Rail Corridor was submitted to the Ministry of Railways last year. The proposed plan of Delhi-Varanasi High Speed Rail Corridor will connect the National Capital Territory of Delhi with major cities like Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Lucknow, Raebareli, Prayagraj, Bhadohi, Varanasi and Ayodhya. The high-speed rail route will also connect the proposed international airport at Jewar in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
