Surat : Dumper crushes laborers sleeping on footpath, Painful death of 15

Surat : A tragic accident took place late Monday night at Surat in Gujarat. A dumper on Kim Road in Surat crushed 22 people, including a child, in which 13 people were killed on the spot. 9 were injured in the accident and have been admitted to SMIMR Hospital, Surat. During treatment, 2 of the injured died at the hospital.

According to the information received, these people were laborers and were sleeping on the roadside. At the same time, Dumper’s control deteriorated and it crushed the sleeping laborers. The accident took place in Palod village in Surat. All the deceased were laborers sleeping on the sidewalk. During that time, sugarcane tractors and trucks came face to face, the truck driver lost control of the dumper and the truck climbed on the workers sleeping on the footpath.

It has been informed by the police that all the laborers were from Rajasthan. Currently, the dead bodies have been sent for postmortem. The injured are undergoing treatment.
