Superstar Rajinikanth to be honoured with ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Award’

 

Mumbai : Rajinikanth, the superstar of South films, will receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the biggest award in the film world. Today, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced this. He has said that the 51st Dada Saheb Phalke Award will be given to Rajinikanth on May 3. Rajinikanth is 71 years old.

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, “So far this award has been given to 50 celebrities for their outstanding contribution to cinema. Now the 51st award will be given to superstar Rajinikanth.

Rajinikanth was born on 12 December 1950 in a Marathi family in Bengaluru. Born in a poor family, Rajinikanth earned a lot of name not only in Tollywood but also in Bollywood due to his hard work and hard struggle. In the South, Rajinikanth is called Thalaivaa and Bhagwan. Rajinikanth’s real name is Shivaji Rao Gaikwad.

Rajinikanth started his film career at the age of 25. His first Tamil film was ‘Apoorva Ragangal’. Between 1975 and 1977, he played the role of Villain with Kamal Haasan in most of the films. He appeared in the lead role in his first Tamil film ‘Bhairavi’. The film became a big hit and Rajinikanth became a star.
