Statue of Unity: World’s tallest statue can be seen from space! Watch photo!

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE –India’s pride and world’s tallest statue ever which could have been seen from the radius of 30 km, now can also be seen from the space. The statue of unity build in memory of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel is the world’s tallest statue. It towers over the Narmada river in western India. It cost a mammoth $430 million (Rs3,000 crore) to build. The 182-meter structure has now earned a rare bragging right: It is visible from space.

Incidentally, in 2017, when the Indian Space Research Organisation made a world record of launching 104 satellites together, there were 88 earth imaging Dove Satellites from the same American company inboard the PSLV.

This puts it in an elite league of man-made structures that can be seen from above the Earth, like the Palm Islands along the coast of Dubai and the Great Pyramids of Giza.

The statue is nearly 100 feet taller than the Spring Temple Buddha in China—the second tallest statue in the world now. It’s also twice as tall as New York’s Statue of Liberty.

Modi unveiled the statue of one of the country’s heroes of the independence movement at the end of October and stands in Modi’s home state of Gujarat.

In a promotional video, Modi said: “This memorial to Sardar [Patel] is going to become a worldwide tourist attraction. “See our height, measure this nation’s height. This is what we want.”

The heads of 22 villages around the Sardar Sarovar Dam where it is situated wrote an open letter to India’s nationalist prime minister Narendra Modi criticizing the cost and environmental destruction caused by the statue.
