SPPU-affiliated Colleges may hold exams after February 15

Pune : NpNews24 Online Examination of students from the colleges affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) are likely to start after February 15. Initially, examinations of those students who have backlogs will be held. However, a Senate meeting will be held on January 29 to discuss the functioning of the Examination Department.

The Examination Department has announced that the examinations will be held online as per the government resolution. However, no decision has been made yet by the Board of Examinations and Evaluation. Moreover, money spent on the examinations organised by the SPPU Edutech Foundation has yet not been sanctioned by the Senate. Senate members are not happy with the Examination Department’s style of functioning.

Examinations began late last year because a tender was not floated to organise examinations online. This happened due to a lack of coordination between the Examination Department and the university administration. The agency holding the exams has not furnished necessary documents for the same. Therefore, an urgent meeting has been called to discuss the Examination Department’s functioning.

Students are confused as the examinations are likely to be held in February; however, a detailed examination schedule has not been published yet. Initially, exams for backlog papers will be held. Later, the third-year, second-year and the first-year exams will be held in that order, said sources.
