Salesman killed with chopper in Nigdi

A 39-year-old man was brutally murdered when he was standing at a road side stall in Ajanthanagar, Nigdi on Friday afternoon. Two men who had reached there on a motorcycle, attacked him with chopper and fled from the spot.

The deceased person has been identified as Nandu Chavan (39, resident of Sangvi).

According to the police, the incident took place around 3.30 pm. Nandu worked as a salesman. He stopped to smoke a cigarette at the stall on the backside of Hyundai showroom. Two persons came on a two-wheeler and suddenly they attacked Chavan with a sharp weapon. Chavan was seriously injured in this. He was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment. However, doctors declared him died. The accused fled the scene. Nigdi police are further investigating the case.
