Republic TV editor Arnab Goswami arrested

Mumbai : Mumbai Police arrived at Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami’s house on Wednesday morning. Mumbai Police has entered the house and taken Arnab Goswami into custody. Arnab Goswami has been detained by Maharashtra CID in connection with the investigation into the death of interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik in 2018. Arnab is taken to Alibaug. This information has been given by a senior IPS officer.

At the same time, according to news agency ANI, Arnab Goswami has alleged that the Mumbai Police has physically assaulted his mother-in-law and father-in-law, son and wife. The agency has shared some screenshots of the Republic TV channel, in which police are seen entering the house of Goswami. At the moment, the hashtag #ArnabGoswami is trending on Twitter with this news.

According to ANI, Arnab Goswami has alleged that his father-in-law, mother-in-law, son and wife were assaulted by the Mumbai Police. In the video which is running on Republic TV, it is being claimed that the police are seen misbehaving with Arnab.

Actually, this is the case of 2018, when a 53-year-old interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik committed suicide in May 2018 in Alibaug. A suicide note was found after the incident, which was allegedly written by Anvay. In this suicide note, he had said that Arnab Goswami and two others did not pay him 5.40 crore rupees, due to which he faced financial crisis.
