Railway Minister says ‘No to Privatisation’ of railways

NPnews24 online : The railway response to a question on privatization came against the backdrop of a proposal of the national transporter to give two trains to private operators.

Minister Piyush Goyal in a written reply said, “No specific passengers train has been identified to be run by private payers so far.” And on Wednesday, Lok Sabha was informed that there is no proposal to privatize India Railways.

There was again in a separate written reply, Piyush Goyal said there were 189 new lines projects totaling. 21,443 kilometers’ in various stages of planning/approval/execution, which will connect area not covered so far under railway network.
